The Bride

Weeks and months of preparation, stressful moments and anticipation. Finally the big day is here. The bride wants to look perfect and beautiful. Everything has to fit just right, the dress, the hair, and the skin needs to look flawless. All while making sure the guests are well taken care of. Of course, the „timing“ has to be accurate, since no bride wants to keep everyone waiting on the big day. Days and weeks in advance, she replays the morning of the wedding over and over again, asking herself „did I miss anything?“. Just to make sure she is well prepared and has thought of everything.

In the Bible, the return of Jesus is compared to a wedding. His believers are the bride and Jesus is the bridegroom. Therefore, we are Jesus` bride.  Our lives here on earth are meant to prepare us for the beautiful day of our wedding and we need to ask ourselves if we are ready. How can we prepare for this important event? Does something need to change to honor and love our bridegroom? Are we pure? Are we ready to look Jesus in the eyes when our wedding day comes?

Are you ready to encounter Jesus?

„So you, too, must keep watch! For you do not know the day or hour of my return.“

said Jesus in Matthew 25:13
