Imagine you’re Martha. Your brother has been dead for four days. The grief is overwhelming, your tears have nearly run dry, the pain remains. Then Jesus shows up–the Savior who works miracles. But he comes too late to spare your brother from death. But then he tells the dead Lazarus that he should come out of his grave–and Lazarus comes out of his grave! He is alive! (Check out the Scripture.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jesus knew that this was a foretaste of what was yet to come–his victory over the grave forever. The grave will not have the last word. Whoever believes in Him will never be truly dead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The words that Jesus said to Martha, Lazarus’s sister, are also true for us today:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live,\u2002and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die.”<\/em><\/em><\/em><\/p>\nJohn 11:25-26<\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Although our earthy body will die, God has more in store than we could ever fathom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Martha answered: “Yes, Lord; I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God.”<\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/p>\nJohn 11:27<\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
