But how do we achieve that? There are just too many things that kill joy: my difficult neighbor who doesn\u2019t like me; the coworker who\u2019s constantly favored by the boss; the partner who makes my life difficult; the kids who make strange decisions\u2026 and so on and so forth. So many circumstances that constantly try to rob me of my joy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Yes, life can deal some heavy blows. Circumstances can seem almost impossible. People throughout history have experienced this and shared their stories. The Bible offers this encouragement: \u201cThe joy of the Lord is our strength.\u201d This is a great mystery\u2014and one that can truly be experienced: Whoever looks to the living God and trusts in Him will find joy\u2014no matter how bitter, how hard, or how difficult the circumstances may be. Why? Because they have come to understand that God\u2019s plans are beyond our understanding. This perspective opens up new dimensions that extend beyond the present moment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, take your eyes off your circumstances.
