{"id":41931,"date":"2026-08-02T00:26:00","date_gmt":"2026-08-01T22:26:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/godloves.me\/?p=41931"},"modified":"2026-06-26T09:23:00","modified_gmt":"2026-06-26T07:23:00","slug":"shameanddignity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/godloves.me\/en\/shameanddignity\/","title":{"rendered":"Shame and Dignity"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>\u201cShame on you!\u201d Those were the words he heard most often from his mother, and they led him into the drug scene, later to prison, and nearly to his death. \u2013 Shame is a feeling that weighs us down, accuses us, hurts us, and is almost unbearable. That\u2019s why many people retreat into emotional numbness, aggressive behavior, or self-destructive behavior. To drown out their own shame, they shame, mock, humiliate, degrade, or bully others. This is how shame survives for generations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Pharisees publicly shamed a woman caught in adultery and wanted to stone her. Jesus said, \u201cLet anyone among you who is without sin cast the first stone.\u201d Struck by these words, they ran away! Jesus gave the woman this liberating response: \u201cNeither do I condemn you. Go and sin no more!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jesus does not condemn a remorseful sinner! Through forgiveness, we regain our dignity!
