A Ray of Hope from God’s Creation
19. January. 25

In January, when the sky is especially clear during the early evening hours, Venus reveals itself in radiant magnificence and decorates the evening sky as a bright evening star. This heavenly appearance offers us an impressive occasion to think about the Biblical meaning of light.

“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. And God said, ‘Let there be light,’ and there was light.”

Genesis 1:1-3

These words describe the moment when God brought light into the world in order to break through the darkness and to bring order to the chaos.

Like the light at the beginning of creation, Venus illuminates the night sky and offers us a glimpse into God’s work in nature. The sight of Venus reminds us that God’s creation is perfect and well thought out. Every heavenly phenomenon—be it the moon, the stars, or Venus—is an expression of God’s power and wisdom.

How can the light of Venus serve as an inspiration for you to keep searching for God even in dark times?
