When empty cups are full of love
23. November. 25

When I get up on a cold morning, hold the cup in my hand, and take the first sip of fresh coffee, I feel warmth rising inside me. It’s a moment when I feel safe and alive.
But what happens when the cup is empty? An empty cup can mean disappointment for me, a feeling that something is missing, or remind me of times when I felt lonely, broken, or lost.

“As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, O God.”

Psalm 42,2

It is precisely in these moments, when I feel empty inside, that I experience God encountering me. His love fills my emptiness.
My gaze wanders to the empty cup, where I discover the heart made of foam at the bottom of the cup. It is still there, even though I created it on the full cup. This small sign reminds me that God’s love remains—even when my life feels empty.
God is always ready to fill your life with His love. No matter how empty you feel, His presence warms you like a cup of coffee on a cold morning.
Have you ever discovered God’s love in your emptiness?
