Does Real Faith Ever Doubt?

Many of King David’s Psalms in the Bible express doubts or fear. And yet he was called a “man after God’s own heart.” So why should “believers” not have any doubts?

Real faith allows for doubts because they are part of life. Anything else is artificial, hypocritical “piety” or destructive criticizing and questioning. That takes many captive and harms them. If we talk with God about our doubts and fears, we have come to the right place. In his presence new, lasting faith grows.

So it’s no problem if you have any doubts. Talk with God about it because he knows about it anyway. Let the Holy Spirit lead you back to the Father’s heart of God. These important interactions are the ones that set us free and create new divine trust in us.

Then Jesus told him, ‘Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.’
