After countless hours of practice and rehearsals, the artists are finally able to present their rehearsed program to the audience. The choir and orchestra are perfectly coordinated. Dreamlike musical sounds fill the concert hall and evoke deep emotions in the audience.
Each individual artist, whether singer, double bass player, or violinist, knows their role exactly. They all have different tasks, but they play the same song. At the front stands the man who holds everything together: the conductor. It is crucial for the musicians to focus not on each other, but on the conductor.
God also wants to be the conductor of our communal life. He knows the melody and rhythm of humanity to the point, because he is our creator. When we focus our lives toward God, we come into harmony with creation and our personal calling. People around us are no longer our competitors with whom we have to constantly compare ourselves but our fellow musicians. Each one of them has a different task, but by everyone looking to the same conductor, we play the same melody together.
Who or what do you orient your life toward?
