The Search for Significance
21. April. 24

Is it in wealth and possessions, family and friends, or the ability to abstain from everything? In our society, we are confronted with an abundance of offers and opportunities, each promising to be the most important thing for our lives. In the midst of this flood of possibilities, a person is like an unsuccessful hunter, driven to keep running after his prey but never getting it. What is really important? What actually lasts?

Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.

Psalm 90:12

Reflecting on how short life is allows us to recognize what’s really important. Things that seem important suddenly fade into the background, and what was previously hidden becomes visible. Recognizing that our life is limited makes it easier for us to organize the priorities of our life.
