As I am coming home, I toss my jacket into the corner. I’m tired and exhausted. I flop down on the couch. I have little energy. Everyday life is a challenge at the moment and when I do have time, I find it hard to settle.
100 thoughts are racing through my head. Work, family, conflicts, pending matters… and I should have tidied up my apartment a long time ago.
When I’m caught up in the whirlwind of my thoughts and tasks, it helps me to turn my focus to God. In God, I find a counterpart who loves me and accepts me. With him, I can be real and authentic. This helps me to reorganize my thoughts and priorities. With God, I experience what is described here in the book of Isaiah:
But those who hope in the Lord receive new strength; they grow wings like eagles. They run and do not grow weary, they walk and are not exhausted.
Isaiah 40:31
Where do you find new strength?
