The postman very kindly places my post in my hands. One envelope in particular catches my eye. I look at the sender’s name, which is unfamiliar to me, and without thinking, I tell the postman to take it back. ‘Refused,’ he writes on it! It was only years later that I realised I’d turned down a brilliant offer.

Fortunately, I didn’t treat God’s love letter in the same way. Sadly, many reject His offer, which determines life and death. Perhaps it’s simply that the postman is unfriendly, the colour of the envelope isn’t trendy enough, or simply because they’re in a bad mood. Some refuse to accept it quite deliberately because God is the sender and they want nothing to do with Him …
