The referee’s job is becoming more and more difficult. Each team wants to win at any cost and is tempted to use prohibited methods. The rules permit the teams to correct and stop them if necessary. Rules seem to limit freedom, but they also make the game more equitable and fair.

Jesus Christ connects freedom and justice. He showed us the love for our neighbour. He is an example and “coach” for respectful togetherness. 

Our own strength is insufficient. Often we are emotionally uncontrolled. In our relationships, we need the cleaning power of Jesus’ forgiveness. Led by the Holy Spirit, we learn more and more to live relationships openly and honestly.

But don’t use your freedom as an excuse to live in sin. Instead, serve one another in love.
