The fans in the arena jump off their seats and cheer. They celebrate their hero, the winner of the match. Journalists try to catch his attention, ask questions and stream them worldwide. 

Behind the victory are a lot of lonely hours of training and discipline. You also cannot underestimate the mental strength that is being tested by losses, injuries and the reports in various media. It’s a lot that an athlete must endure, overcome and leave behind! It’s a good thing that he has a coach who builds him up, motivates, and keeps his focus on the result: the trophy!

But the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.

Conflicts and other irritations have the potential to shake your faith. This is why the Bible uses the picture of sports, to hone our focus towards the goal. This is why God gives his disciples the Holy Spirit as trainer, helper and comforter.
