Ich habe letztes Jahr ein Manuskript fertig geschrieben. Es soll eines Tages ein Buch werden. Einfach nur ein Buch.
Die Bibel ist nicht nur einfach ein Buch. Sie ist eine Sammlung alter Dokumente, aber sie ist noch viel mehr als das. Sie ist das Wort Gottes! Die Bibel ist von Gott inspiriert, das heisst, er hat durch Menschen gesprochen, die diese Briefe und Bücher geschrieben haben.
Deswegen ist die Bibel lebendig und lebensverändernd. Gott spricht durch seinen Heiligen Geist in der Bibel auch heute noch zu uns. Das unterscheidet die Bibel von allen anderen Büchern.
Denn jede Schrift, die von Gottes Geist eingegeben wurde, ist nützlich für die Unterweisung im Glauben, für die Zurechtweisung und Besserung der Irrenden, für die Erziehung zu einem Leben, das Gott gefällt.

I finished writing a manuscript last year. It should turn into a book one day. Just a book.
The Bible is not just a book. It is a collection of ancient documents, but it is much more than that. It is the word of God. The Bible is inspired by God, which means that he spoke through the people who wrote these letters and books.
This is why the Bible is alive and life-changing. God still speaks to us today through his Holy Spirit in the Bible. This distinguishes the Bible from all other books.
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,. 2

Nach einer wahren Begebenheit:
Als ein Taucher bei seiner Routinearbeit auf dem Meeresgrund versuchte vorwärts zu waten, staunte er nicht schlecht. Er sah etwas sehr Seltsames. Eine Muschel hatte einen Fetzen Papier zwischen den Schalen eingeklemmt.
Neugierig und sorgfältig löste er das nasse Stück aus den beiden Schalen heraus. Als er es etwas näher an seine Taucherbrille hielt, konnte er einen Text erkennen. Er versuchte es zu lesen:
«Ich bin nicht gekommen, um bedient zu werden, sondern um zu dienen und mein Leben als Lösegeld für viele zu geben.»
Markus 10,45
Dieser Bibelvers traf ihn mitten ins Herz. Gottes Liebe begegnete ihm bei der Arbeit auf dem Meeresgrund. Gott benutzte eine Auster, um ihn an seine Barmherzigkeit zu erinnern. Noch heute zeugen die Schalen der Auster von jener speziellen Begegnung. Dieser Bibelvers veränderte das Leben des Tauchers.
Vielleicht ist gerade diese Geschichte für dich wie jenes Papier, das zwischen den Schalen der Muschel eingeklemmt war.
Gott fragt dich heute: «Was machst du mit meinem Angebot?»

Based on a true story:
When a diver tried to wade forward during his routine work on the seabed, he was astonished. He saw something very strange. A mussel had wedged a scrap of paper between the shells.
Curious, he carefully removed the wet piece from the two shells. When he held it a little closer to his diving goggles, he could recognise a text. He tried to read it:
‘For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.’ Mark 10:45

This Bible verse hit him right in the heart. He encountered God’s love while working at the bottom of the sea. God used an oyster to remind him of his mercy. Even today, the shells of the oyster bear witness to that special encounter. This Bible verse changed the diver’s life.
Perhaps this story is like the paper that was wedged between the shells of the oyster.
God is asking you today: ‘What are you doing with my offer?’

‘We must stand up for our rights’ or ‘We will not allow our freedom to be taken away’. These and similar statements can be found time and again on social media. When we dislike something, feel overlooked or treated unfairly, we often tend to react in this way. As if this would change the situation, we give free rein to our displeasure and insist on our rights.
In the Bible, we read the story of David and Saul. Saul, who was king at the time, was to be replaced in the near future by David, who had already been anointed king. This displeased Saul and he decided to get rid of David. During a chase, David had the opportunity to kill Saul in a cave in the mountains. Instead of killing him with his sword, however, he only cut a piece of cloth from his cloak to prove to him that he had not rebelled against the king.
David does not seek justice on his own. He trusts that God’s plan is unstoppable and that God himself will provide justice at the right time.
