Jesus steht vor dem Hohen Rat, dem jüdischen Gericht. Auf seine Anklage hin bestätigt er: «Ich bin Gottes Sohn!» Ups, das ist Gotteslästerung für die religiösen Führer. Deswegen muss er zum römischen Statthalter Pilatus.
Doch dieser findet keine Schuld an ihm und schickt ihn weiter zum regionalen Herrscher Herodes.
Herodes hat schon viel von Jesus gehört und freut sich, ihn endlich kennenzulernen. Als Jesus ihm keine Antworten gibt, nervt er sich. Herodes und seine Soldaten verspotten ihn und schicken ihn zurück zu Pilatus.
Pilatus ist überfordert und überlässt die Entscheidung über Jesus dem Volk. «Weg mit ihm! Ans Kreuz mit ihm!»
Noch am selben Tag hängt Jesus mit zwei Verbrechern am Kreuz. Alle verspotten ihn und er wird angespuckt. Doch halt! Ein zum Tod Verurteilter glaubt, dass Jesus Gott ist! Welche Hoffnung hat der Übeltäter am Kreuz?
Er glaubt, dass Jesus unschuldig ist und vertraut, dass Jesus ihn nicht vergessen und ihn nach dem Tode zum ewigen Leben auferwecken wird.

Jesus stands before the high council, the Jewish court. In response to his accusation, he affirms, “I am the Son of God!” Oops, that’s blasphemy to the religious leaders. That’s why he has to go to Pilate, the Roman governor.
But he finds no fault with him and sends him on to the regional ruler Herod.
Herod has already heard a lot about Jesus and is happy to finally meet him. When Jesus doesn’t respond, he gets annoyed. Herod and his soldiers taunt him and send him back to Pilate.
Pilate is overwhelmed and leaves the decision relevant to Jesus’ case to the people. “Away with him! To the cross with him!”
That same day Jesus and two criminals alongside him are hanging on the cross. Everyone mocks him and spits at him. But hold on a second! A man condemned to death believes that Jesus is God! What hope does the evildoer on the cross have?
He believes that Jesus is innocent and trusts that Jesus will not forget him and will raise him to eternal life after death.
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God

Ab und zu hatte ich mit meiner Schwester wegen einer Kleinigkeit Streit. Danach redeten wir oft kein Wort miteinander, bis ich es nicht mehr aushielt und mich entschuldigte.
Doch dieses Mal wollte ich mich nicht entschuldigen, denn sie betitelte mich als eine blöde Mondkuh!
Ich bin vier Jahre jünger, deshalb wusste ich nicht, was dieses Wort bedeutet. Dachte mir aber, dass es ganz schlimm sei, so richtig böse! Nein, ich wollte ihr niemals mehr vergeben!
Etwas später erzählte mir meine Freundin von einem Gespräch, das Jesus mit Petrus führte, der fragte: «Herr, wenn mein Bruder an mir schuldig wird, wie oft muss ich ihm verzeihen? Sieben mal?»
Plötzlich wusste ich Bescheid, was ich mit meiner Schwester zu tun hatte. Weisst du es auch? Lies die Geschichte in Matthäus 18,21-35 selbst.
Jesus hat dir am Kreuz all dein Unrecht vergeben, warum solltest du deiner Schwester oder Frau, deinem Bruder oder Mann, deinem Mitmenschen nicht auch vergeben?
Wenn wir unsere Sünden bekennen, so ist er treu und gerecht, dass er uns die Sünden vergibt und uns reinigt von aller Ungerechtigkeit.

My sister and I occasionally fought over some small thing. Afterwards we would often not speak a word to each other until I couldn’t stand it anymore and apologized.
But this time I didn’t want to apologize because she had called me as a stupid “moon cow”
Being 4 years younger, I didn’t even know what these words meant. But I thought that they were extremely bad, really mean! No, I never wanted to forgive her ever again!
A little while later, my friend told me of a conversation that Jesus had had with Peter who had asked him, “Lord, how often do I have to forgive my brother when he sins against me? Seven times?”
Suddenly I knew exactly what I had to do. Do you also know? You can read the story for yourself in Matthew 18:21-35.
On the cross, Jesus forgave you for all of your sins. Why shouldn’t you forgive your sister or wife, your brother or husband, or your fellow man?
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

Seemingly self-confident, a woman enters a house. She has but one specific goal: Jesus! She has to see Jesus!
She approaches him. Suddenly tears roll down her face, directly onto the feet of Jesus. Spontaneously, she reacts by wiping the tears with her hair. Then she kisses his feet again and again. Finally, she also pours an expensive oil over his feet.
Unbelievable! From the perspective of the religious leaders Jesus is with, she defiles Jesus with each touch. In the Bible, she is called a sinner. She is supposedly a prostitute. As such, she is one who people at that time rejected. But Jesus does not reject her! He allows her to continue to do what she is doing and thereby accepts her trust. What kind of impact does this have on this woman?
Jesus looks at her and tells her that she is forgiven. Exactly that is her hope, her faith, her goal. That’s why she wanted to see Jesus.
Are there tears that you can shed before Jesus?
Forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal….
