In 1927, the Russian biologist Ilya Ivanovich Ivanov began with his attempts to inseminate chimpanzees with sperms from humans and vice versa. The “experiment” failed miserably, but the myth was born. Without any legal basis, scientists “fumble around” unflinchingly. This raises far-reaching, ethical questions: Who has such a great interest in performing and financing such expensive experiments?
Why has it become socially acceptable to play around with genetic material? Are we still on the trip to prove to the Creator that he really doesn’t exist by messing around with his inventions? We want to produce life, but we’re not able to do it. We long to be like God, just like the first humans did! God knows that our deepest needs can only really be satisfied by the Holy Spirit. His Son Jesus Christ gave everything for us. It’s only through him that we can enjoy abundant life.
Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.

It was just before noon and people were coming into our office. They had traveled for over an hour and I did not really know them. After providing them with the information needed, I wondered where they were going to eat. – It was cold outside and I thought that I should invite them for lunch. I went to another room and telephoned my wife to coordinate with her. – Pleased with her positive response, I invited them for lunch.
At the lunch table a very lively discussion developed. The children were interested to hear more about the “French mentality” because they were discussing the French Revolution at school. Hungry mouths were fed, questions answered and relationships strengthened. My wife radiated with satisfaction as she thought of having fed some hungry “angels.”
Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it.

Es war kurz vor zwölf und es kamen Leute in unser Büro. Sie waren eine gute Stunde gereist und ich kannte sie nur flüchtig. Nachdem ich ihnen die nötigen Informationen lieferte, überlegte ich, wo sie wohl etwas essen. – Es war kalt draussen und in meinem Herzen fühlte ich, sie zum Mittagessen einzuladen. Ich ging kurz ins Nebenzimmer und telefonierte meiner Frau, welche ich in mein Anliegen einweihte. – Erfreut über die positive Antwort lud ich die Leute zum Essen ein.
Vergesst nicht, Gastfreundschaft zu üben, denn auf diese Weise haben einige, ohne es zu wissen, Engel bei sich aufgenommen.

Am grossen Mittagstisch entwickelte sich eine sehr angeregte Diskussion. Die Kinder waren interessiert mehr über die «welsche Mentalität» zu hören, weil sie in der Schule gerade über die Französische Revolution diskutierten. Die hungrigen Mäuler wurden gestillt, die Fragen beantwortet und die Beziehungen gestärkt. Meine Frau strahlte eine Zufriedenheit aus, im Gedanken daran, einige hungrige «Engel» gespeist zu haben.

Mein Wecker schrillt unaufhörlich. Halb träumend konfrontiert mich die kalte Realität! Möglichst schnell möchte ich zurück in die Welt der Träume. Schlaftrunken, unmotiviert und mit winzig-kleinen Augen schleppe ich mich ins Bad. Sind dir solche Szenen auch bekannt?
Während über zwei Jahren war das meine Morgenroutine. Täglich kämpfte ich gegen die negativen Gedanken. Ich wollte sie besiegen.
In jener Zeit fühlte ich mich völlig fehl am Arbeitsplatz. Als ich jedoch mein Dilemma vor Gott ausbreitete, erfuhr ich seine Hilfe. Im Nachhinein kann ich seinen wunderbaren Plan darin erkennen.
Lebst du aktuell in einer ähnlichen Situation? Fühlst du dich am falschen Platz? Ist es vielleicht eine Zeit, in der du etwas Wichtiges lernen kannst? Vertrau deinem Schöpfer. Er kennt dich genau.
Ihr werdet ihn immer besser kennen lernen und das ganze Ausmass seiner herrlichen Kraft und Stärke erfahren, damit ihr geduldig und ausdauernd euren Weg gehen könnt.
Kolosser 1,11
Im richtigen Moment zeigt er dir den nächsten Schritt. Bleib geduldig in seiner Gegenwart. Er wird dich dafür täglich mit neuer Kraft belohnen.

My alarm clock is going off endlessly. Half awake, the harsh reality is getting to me! I want to return to the world of dreams as quickly as possible. Sleepy, unmotivated and with tiny little eyes I drag myself to the bathroom… – sounds familiar?
For over two years this was my morning routine. Every day, I fought against my negative thoughts. I wanted to defeat them.
During that time, I felt completely out of place at work. – When I laid out my dilemma before God, I experienced His help. In retrospect, I can see His wonderful plan in it.
Being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience,
Colossians 1:11
Are you currently living in a similar situation? Do you feel you are in the wrong place? – Is it perhaps a period in life when you can learn something important? Trust your Creator. He knows you intimately.
At the right moment, he will show you the next step. Remain patient in his presence. He will reward you for it daily with new strength.
