On my trips to India, I’ve noticed that cows enjoy a special position in the society there. They run along the already overfilled streets and through the colorful markets; and, if they’re hungry, the Indians won’t deny them any food. That which seemed amusing to me at first, later showed itself to be a destructive result of spiritual convictions which manifest themselves in the society. Since the cow is revered as holy in India, many Indians would rather spend the remainder of their money on feed for the cows, even if their family starves as a result.
Unhealthy structures and models often fall apart based on falsely placed priorities. Our beliefs impact our everyday life. The Bible teaches us to place loving God as the first priority in our lives. When God is at the center of our lives, every area of our lives gets in line with this and develops in a positive direction. Building our faith in God doesn’t always have immediate results, but it always has a positive and lasting impact on us as individuals, and also on an entire society.

Ich kann mich sehr gut an Momente erinnern, als mir mein Mami ein Foto von ihrer geliebten Mutter zeigte. Sie streichelte über das Bild und bemerkte unter Tränen : «Eines Tages werden wir uns im wunderbaren Himmel wiedersehen. Ich freue mich sehr darauf!»
Als ich die Nachricht bekam, dass mein liebes Mami gestorben ist, kam mir sofort diese Erinnerung in den Sinn. Mein Mami ist soeben im Himmel angekommen! Jetzt kann sie ihre Mutter umarmen.
Wenn dieses irdische Zelt, in dem wir leben, einmal abgerissen wird – wenn wir sterben und diesen Körper verlassen –, werden wir ein ewiges Haus im Himmel haben.
2. Korinther 5,1a
Mein Mami glaubte an die ewige Heimat im Himmel. Das gibt mir viel Trost und eine grosse Vorfreude auf den Himmel: Auch ich werde mein Mami wiedersehen!

How well I can remember the moments when my mom showed me a picture of her beloved mother. She gently stroked the picture and with tears in her eyes remarked, “One day we’ll see each other again in our wonderful heavenly home. I am so looking forward to that!”
When I received the message that my beloved mother had died, this memory was what immediately came to mind. My mother has also arrived in heaven! Now she can hug her mother.
For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands.
2 Corinthians 5:1
Mom believed in an eternal home in heaven. That gives me so much comfort and a great joyful anticipation of heaven: I’ll also get to see my mom again!

A king had a great servant. He made a small mistake. The king therefore ordered him to be fed to his trained dogs. Terrified, the servant asked for a reprieve of ten days. During this time, the servant fed and cared for the dogs and was very good to them.
When he was now thrown in with the hungry dogs as punishment, they licked his feet.
The king was visibly irritated. The servant answered him calmly: “Your dogs have not forgotten my brief care. You, king, on the other hand, have rejected my years of loyal service because of a small mistake.” Now the king was ashamed and set the servant free.
How quickly do we judge our neighbour on the basis of a small mistake even though we have already received a great deal of good from him. How strongly do we allow ourselves to be mirrored and weigh our words and actions?

Ein König hatte einen grossartigen Diener. Dieser machte einen kleinen Fehler. Deshalb befahl der König, ihn seinen hungrigen Hunden zum Frass vorzuwerfen. Erschrocken bat der Diener eine Gnadenfrist von zehn Tagen. In dieser Zeit fütterte und pflegte der Diener die Hunde und war sehr gut zu ihnen.
Als er nun als Strafe zu den wieder hungrig gemachten Hunden hineingeworfen wurde, leckten sie ihm die Füsse.
Der König war sichtlich irritiert. Der Diener antwortete ihm gelassen: «Deine Hunde haben meine kurze Pflege nicht vergessen. Du, König, hast hingegen meine jahrelangen treuen Dienste wegen eines kleinen Fehlers verworfen.» Nun war der König beschämt und liess den Diener in Freiheit.
Wie schnell beurteilen wir unseren Nächsten anhand eines kleinen Fehlers, obwohl wir schon sehr viel Gutes von ihm empfangen haben. Wie stark lassen wir uns spiegeln und werten wir Worte und Taten?
