Stell dir vor, du bist Martha: Dein Bruder ist seit vier Tagen tot. Die Trauer ist überwältigend, deine Tränen ein bisschen versiegt, der Schmerz bleibt. Dann taucht Jesus auf – der Retter, der Wunder vollbringt. Doch er kommt zu spät, um deinen Bruder vor dem Tod zu bewahren. Aber dann sagt er zum toten Lazarus, er solle aus dem Grab kommen … und Lazarus kommt aus dem Grab! Er lebt! (siehe Bibeltext)
Jesus wusste, dass dies ein Vorgeschmack auf das war, was noch kommen sollte – den Tod besiegen, für immer. Das Grab wird nicht das letzte Wort haben. Wer an ihn glaubt, wird niemals wirklich sterben.
Die Worte, die Jesus zu Martha, Lazarus Schwester, sprach, gelten auch heute für uns:
«Ich bin die Auferstehung und das Leben; wer an mich glaubt, wird leben, auch wenn er gestorben ist.»
Johannes 11,25–26
Obwohl unsere irdischen Körper sterben, hat Gott mehr auf Lager, als wir je ergründen können.
Martha antwortete: «Ja, Herr, ich glaube, dass du der Christus bist, der Sohn Gottes.»

A new housing development was recently built near us. I was very impressed by the huge, solid foundations of the new buildings. When building a house, a solid foundation is crucial. Without a strong foundation, the entire building would quickly become unstable and run the risk of collapsing.
The Bible says: The foundation that has been laid among you is Jesus Christ. No one can lay another foundation.
1 Corinthians 3:11
Foundations are not only important for building houses, but also for our spiritual lives. The Bible teaches us that we were created to live in relationship with God—to know and love Him. Having God as our foundation means that our relationship with Him forms the basis for a fulfilled and meaningful life.

Vor kurzem wurde bei uns in der Nähe eine neue Siedlung gebaut. Die riesigen, festen Fundamente der neuen Gebäude beeindruckten mich sehr. Beim Bau eines Hauses ist ein solides Fundament von entscheidender Bedeutung. Ohne ein starkes Fundament würde das gesamte Gebäude schnell instabil werden und Gefahr laufen, einzustürzen.
In der Bibel steht: Das Fundament, das bei euch gelegt wurde, ist Jesus Christus. Niemand kann ein anderes legen.
1. Korinther 3,11
Das Fundament ist nicht nur für den Bau von Häusern wichtig, sondern auch für unser geistliches Leben. Die Bibel lehrt uns, dass wir geschaffen wurden, um in einer Beziehung zu Gott zu leben – ihn zu kennen und zu lieben. Gott als Fundament zu haben, bedeutet, dass unsere Beziehung zu ihm die Grundlage für ein erfülltes und sinnvolles Leben bildet.

Ich platze innerlich fast vor Wut. Schon lange hatte ich mich nicht mehr so stark geärgert wie in diesem Augenblick. Mit einem Dutzend Jugendlichen stand ich auf einem Fussballfeld. Schon den ganzen Tag hatte ich mich auf guten Fussball bei perfekten Wetterbedingungen gefreut. Doch ich realisierte, dass meine Mitspielerinnen und Mitspieler das Fussballspiel gar nicht so ernst nahmen. Regeln wurden ignoriert, Ehrgeiz war nicht vorhanden, und es wurde viel geredet – insgesamt glich das Ganze wohl eher einem Kaffeekränzchen als einem Fussballspiel.
Für ein richtig gutes Fussballspiel ist es wichtig, dass die Grundregeln eingehalten werden und eine gewisse Ernsthaftigkeit vorhanden ist, ansonsten endet das Ganze schnell bei einem Kaffeekränzchen.
Das Fussballspiel ist nicht essentiell. Nicht jeder findet Fussball so toll wie ich – damit muss ich klarkommen. In die Schöpfung sind wir alle eingebunden. Wenn es einen Schöpfer gibt, ist die Frage nach unserem Verhältnis zu ihm absolut relevant. Ich glaube, dass wir kein Zufallsprodukt sind. Ich vertraue darauf, dass Gott die Erde mit all ihren Facetten geschaffen hat – inklusive mich. In einem geordneten Verhältnis zu unserem Schöpfer entspringt ein gelungenes und versöhntes Leben.

I am almost bursting with rage inside. It has been a long time since I have been as angry as I am right now. I am standing on a football pitch with a dozen young people. All day long, I had been looking forward to a good game of football in perfect weather conditions. But I realised that my teammates were not taking the game seriously at all. Rules were ignored, there was no ambition, and there was a lot of talking – overall, the whole thing was more like a coffee party than a football match.
For a really good football match, it is important that the basic rules are followed and that there is a certain level of seriousness, otherwise the whole thing quickly ends up as a coffee party.
The football match is not essential. Not everyone loves football as much as I do – I have to accept that. We are all part of creation. If there is a Creator, the question of our relationship with him is absolutely relevant. I believe that we are not a product of chance. I trust that God created the earth with all its facets – including me. A successful and reconciled life springs from an orderly relationship with our Creator.
