The Lord is risen!

The Lord is risen!

He truly is risen! Even today this well known Easter greeting is common among Christians today. It is a wonderful tradition or is there more to it?
It is about the basis of faith. The spiritual clergy tried to silence Jesus by crucifying him. They believed that they could prevent the previously announced resurrection by sealing the grave and guarding it. But when an angel moved the tombstone, the soldiers were shaking and fell to the ground. Now, the religious elite used their influence to systematically turn the event into a lie and bribed the soldiers for false witnesses.

Jesus’ disciples who encountered Jesus were rather tortured and killed than losing the joy over the eternal truth. Even today that is the case!

And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith.

Corinthians 15:14

How well do you personally know the Risen?

Bible passage: Matthew 27:62-65 | 28:1-15

The Lord is risen!

Jesus the Lamb of God Who Carried the Sin Of The World

Globally, we are making big efforts to appease war, to fight hunger and to save broken relationships….

Plans to solve these problems and to make peace couldn’t be any more controversial.
God’s peace plan is his only son Jesus! He paid with his life so we can have a chance to have a real relationship with God. Healing and reconciliation has to occur deeply in our heart and in our thoughts. All other approaches are superficial and unsustainable.

Jesus became the ultimate sacrifice that died out of his own free will so all our sin is extinguished. This does not happen automatically. It requires turning to him and accepting this gift.

Jesus did not only die, but he was also resurrected! He lives! Therefore we can reestablish our relationship with God and heal it forever!

And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.

Corinthians 5:15

How do you handle Jesus’ gift to you?

Fact check about Good Friday and Easter

Fact check about Good Friday and Easter

After his execution and the officially confirmed death, Jesus was laid in the tomb and truly rose on the third day. The religious elite who demanded his death as well as the Romans who crucified him tried to find proof that Jesus’ body was stolen. They could not believe that he had risen and that he lived. Ultimately, they paid Roman soldiers to spread the lie that the body was stolen. We are looking at a few reasons that speak for Jesus’ resurrection.

The tomb was empty, the seal broken and the tomb stone rolled away despite strong security. Thieves would have been caught swiftly through Roman intelligence.

All disciples stuck to the resurrection until their last day even though many of them were tortured and killed. They witnessed the empty grave and the resurrection just as Jesus had predicted it. The disciples would not have suffered martyr death for a lie.

In contrast, the guards fled. They feared the death sentence. The religious leaders bribed the soldiers so they would spread the lie that the disciples had stolen and hidden the body. This way, the situation was twisted officially.

The death clothes were found folded neatly. If the body was stolen, the clothes would have likely stayed on the body. Romans and Jews would have found the body quickly and would have shown it off as witnesses would have come forward! The questionable behavior of authorities (bribe, denial, false information) hints that something truly phenomenal must have happened. There must have been great perplexity.

Despite all problems and differences of opinion, Jesus’ resurrection is well proven. Jesus predicted it himself. Centuries before the occurrence the Prophets i.e. Isaiah wrote down very detailed accounts about future happenings.

More than 500 men were live witnesses of his resurrection. He met many in person, ate fish in front of their eyes to eliminate all doubt.

Facts do not create relationships. It is solely faith in the resurrected Son of God that creates new life.

He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.
