Der jüngere Sohn verlangte sein Erbe, zog in die Stadt und verprasste alles innert kürzester Zeit mit Frauen und Festen. Sein älterer Bruder blieb beim Vater und rackerte sich ab auf dem Hof. – Plötzlich tauchte der Jüngere ausgehungert und in Lumpen gekleidet, reuig daheim auf.
Der wartende Vater empfing ihn mit offenen Armen und küsste ihn. Sie schlachteten das gemästete Kalb, gaben ihm neue Kleider, Schuhe und einen Versöhnungsring an den Finger. Musik spielte zum Fest auf. – Müde von der Arbeit kam der ältere Bruder vom Feld zurück. Er hörte die Musik, vernahm von dem Fest, flippte aus und machte dem Vater gewaltige Vorwürfe. Dieser sagte: «Mein Sohn, dein Bruder war verloren, nun ist er wieder daheim. Komm, das wollen wir feiern.»
Vater ich bin schuldig geworden an Gott und an dir.
Lukas 15,18b
Fazit: Beide Brüder haben sich daneben benommen. Gott lädt beide an den gleichen Tisch ein. Jeder kann wählen, ob er am Fest teilnehmen will. Wer Gottes Angebot ablehnt, bleibt ewig getrennt von ihm.

The younger son took his inheritance, went to the city and within no time, he had spent it all on women and parties. His older brother stayed with his father and worked hard on the farm. Suddenly the junger one showed up hungry and in rags feeling very sorry. The waiting father welcomed him with open arms and kissed him. They slaughtered a calf, gave him new clothes, shoes and a ring of reconciliation. There was music to celebrate.
Tired from the day’s hard work on the field, the older brother came home. He heard the music, learned about the party, totally lost it and criticised his dad severely. The dad responded: “My son, your brother was lost and now he came home. Come, let’s celebrate.”
Conclusion: Both brothers misbehaved. God invites them to the same table. Each one can choose if he wants to participate or not. The one who refuses God’s offer will be separated from him in eternity.

It’s evident that, every now and then, we are disappointed by one another. The word means: End of Deception! We project something onto the other person which he/she cannot fulfill or does not want to fulfill. Those who are in love often have high expectations for the other but fortunately in a strong relationship that can be put into perspective.
Depending on our vision of God, we can be disappointed. God is not a wishing well where we throw in money and get out what we want. God is looking for humble people who want to cultivate a real friendship. As the creator he knows our real needs. Those who accept him as a friend, he will certainly lead to the destination.
The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God.

Es ist kein Geheimnis, dass wir ab und zu voneinander enttäuscht werden. Das Wort bedeutet: Ende der Täuschung! Wir haben schnell in jemanden etwas hinein projiziert, das er schlicht nicht erfüllen kann und will! Verliebte haben immer wieder überhöhte Wünsche aneinander, was glücklicherweise in starken Beziehungen gesunden kann.
Der Herr schaut vom Himmel auf die Menschenkinder; dass er sehe, ob jemand klug sei und nach Gott frage.
Psalm 14,2
Je nach Vorstellung, die wir von Gott haben, werden wir enttäuscht. Gott ist kein Wunschautomat, bei dem wir Geld einwerfen und das Gewünschte herausziehen können. Gott sucht demütige Menschen, die echte Freundschaft mit ihm pflegen. Als Schöpfer kennt er unsere echten Bedürfnisse. Wer ihn als Freund annimmt, den führt er sicher ans Ziel.

What did Jesus live and teach?
If one hits you on one cheek, offer up the other! This is what he preached and lived! When Jesus was arrested, Peter, full of anger, cut off a soldier’s ear. The Son of God lived the love of the enemy even in the most difficult moments of his life. He perfectly reattached the cut of ear to the soldier’s head. That was his way of life which was questioned by the religious elites.
Jesus’ message is for everyone. He took the punishment we deserved. The righteous paid for our mistakes and created the only option for reconciliation with God!
And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloke forbid not to take thy coat also.
