Imagine being given something you have been dreaming of for a long time. Where should you begin? How are you going to make sure you pick the best wish?
Why not make a list of all your dreams and cross out those that aren’t as important? The goal is that only the big dreams will remain. Did you choose the “best” dream?
It is worthwhile to quickly read the story from 1 Kings 3:1-15 and to think about what is happening. God, Himself gives the intelligent King Solomon one wish. He had witnessed many things and learned from his father David over the years. Solomon decided to ask for wisdom. Such a gift cannot be surpassed.
“That night the Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream, and God said, “What do you want? Ask, and I will give it to you!”

If God gave you one wish.. what would you ask for?
Wow, das wär’s! Einfach etwas wünschen, von dem ich schon lange träume? Doch – wo soll ich nur beginnen? Wie kann ich aus allen Wünschen den Besten herauspicken?
Warum nicht alle Ideen auflisten und jene, die weniger infrage kommen, durchstreichen? Schliesslich bleibt nur noch der grosse Traum übrig. Doch – kann man mit dieser Methode auch wirklich das scheinbar «Beste» auswählen?
Es lohnt sich, die Geschichte aus 1. Könige 3, 1–15 kurz zu lesen und zu überlegen, was da passiert. Gott selbst gibt dem intelligenten König Salomo einen Wunsch frei! Er hat vieles miterlebt und von seinem Vater David gelernt. Deshalb bittet er Gott um Weisheit! Ein sehr spezieller Wunsch, der nicht zu überbieten ist!

Angenommen, Sie hätten bei Gott einen Wunsch frei, wie könnte der lauten?
There is certainly someone who has encouraged you! Do you also know the opposite? Negative things are harder to digest, that’s why elderly folks talk about how they were embarrassed by the teacher. After such a long time, the embarrassment is there.
Words are powerful. However, we are still responsible for what we do with the “seeds” that are planted in our lives. Do we accept them as truth in our life or are we purposefully rejecting them?
Do we seed truth? Are my words spiced up with love and respect? What we say and ultimately believe has consequences that fall back on us.
It is worthwhile to critically assess the way we talk and to reject lies purposefully. From now on, seed peace, joy and love. Congratulations to a joyful, good harvest!

Sicher hat Sie schon jemand ermutigt! Kennen Sie das Gegenteil auch? Negatives ist schwerer verdaulich, deshalb erzählen ältere Menschen, wie sie vom Lehrer blossgestellt wurden. Nach so langer Zeit sitzen Demütigungen noch immer tief.
Worte haben Macht. Trotzdem entscheiden wir darüber, was wir mit dem «Saatgut» machen, das in unser Leben gestreut wurde. Akzeptieren wir es als Wahrheit über unserem Leben oder weisen wir es ganz bewusst zurück?
Säen wir Wahrheit? Sind meine Worte mit Liebe und Respekt gewürzt? Was wir sagen und letztlich auch glauben hat Auswir kungen, die auf uns zurückfallen.
Es lohnt sich, unser Reden kritisch zu prüfen, zu korrigieren und Lügen bewusst zurückzuweisen. Säen Sie ab jetzt Frieden, Freude und Liebe. Herzliche Gratulation zur erfreulichen, guten Ernte!
God sent his only son into this world to make peace. He launched the most spectacular rescue mission of all times! Sin destroyed our relationship with our creator. In Jesus Christ, he stretched out his loving and reconciling hand. Christmas is the answer to the deepest human desire: Peace with God.
The child in the manger becomes the redeemer of humanity. On his shoulders rests our entire punishment. He serves the death sentence due to our sin. Jesus was just born and his parents had to flee with him so he wouldn’t be murdered.
With his perfect life, Jesus pays for our guilt which consists mostly of us turning away from him. The hatred of man he redeems with love and offers forgiveness. This is his Christmas present. The one who unpacks and discovers it daily will be surprised every day.
But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.
