“I’m expecting!” These words pierce into the heart of the King, because it’s not his wife that he was with. No One can ever know about this! He permits his General to have a vacation at home, however, the loyal soldier doesn’t go home to his wife. Therefore, the King puts him in the front line where he will surely be killed. Lucky, isn’t it? Everything is alright? On the contrary, the Prophet Nathan accuses: “You are the man, David!” He can’t escape it. His actions are revealed and he comes to acknowledge them.
Many believe that good is in us from birth. A critical review of history or the daily newspaper shows: Wrong! Violence reigns wherever you go.
David recognizes: “It was hidden to me, it pleases you, if one recognizes the truth.” He admits his guilt, asks for forgiveness and realizes: The man whose sin is washed away by god is as clean as freshly fallen snow! Is there anything more soothing than a clean conscience?
Take my sin then I’ll be clean.
Psalm 52:9
Text of the week: Psalm 51:1-19
How do you get a clean conscience?

You certainly know those achievers. They are en vogue. No one wants to be a “loser” (lame duck). Success is defined as reaching set goals. Extraordinary news ranks high right now. Experts predict future developments that will outperform everything known multifold.
Do we truly know more about life today? Aren’t we rushing past what’s truly important with all the new success recipes? The source of all intelligence is only found in the creator. Slowly, we discover his patterns in nature and, at the end, take credit as if it was our doing. The creator knows too well that true life is not found in success or the recognition of others. His concept is: Trust me completely, with me take care of your neighbor, this way you will find true, fulfilled life.
What is mankind that you are mindful of them!
Psalm 8:4
Text of the week: Matthew 6:19-21
I am important to the Creator of the Heavens and the earth!

Jesus Christus.» Epheser 5, 20
Wochentext: Lukas 17, 11–25
Wie üben Sie Dankbarkeit?

Already as children, we are pushed for success: be part of it, advance, become successful and happy! Before we know it, we are driven by the “market’, media and advertisements. Compulsion, challenges and temptations confront us with choices. Can we create a work-life-balance? What really counts in life?
The Bible doesn’t only give knowledge, but also wisdom. It’s about our relationship with God. In Jesus Christ, he meets us, the Son of God who became human. He gives us a personal “Coach”, the Holy Spirit, so we can get to know God and his will better.
The poet of psalms was asking and got answers: “I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you should go; I will counsel you with My eye upon you.” This offer is for all of us. God wants us to have a successful life. Are you chatting with him about that?
I want to lead you with my eyes
Psalm 32:8

How do I let God’s eyes guide me?

God gave you your face, you need to smile yourself! (Irish Saying). God gave us various talents. What we make out of them is on us. A person who smiles doesn’t have to be happy. Scientists found that the sucide rate tends to be the highest in “happy” countries.
The Clown Robin Williams took his own life which shocked a lot of people. The circus chaplain commented “He delighted many but had two faces. The deeply saddened face he hid from us.”
What source was he connected with?
In John 4 the Bible talks about a fun-loving woman. Jesus offers her “water of life”. He brings light in the dark past and uncovers sin. The healing forgiveness is the source that changes this woman completely. Jesus’ offer of the water of life is for everyone. We simply need to receive and drink it!
“… but the water that I will give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up to eternal life.”
says Jesus in John 4:14

Which well are you drinking from?
