Als ich auf der schmalen Alpenstrasse einem Stein ausweichen wollte, gab es einen riesigen Knall. Unser Auto wurde heftig durchgeschüttelt.
Besorgt schaute ich unter die Karosserie, ob vielleicht eine Bremsleitung abgerissen oder die Ölwanne ein Loch bekommen hatte. Wie durch ein Wunder war nur das Bodenblech etwas beschädigt. Das hätte ganz anders ausgehen können. Wie mancher Stein hat schon kostbare Leben ausgelöscht.
Hatten wir einfach einmal mehr Glück?
Täglich lege ich im Gebet unsere ganze Familie in Gottes Hände und befehle sie seinem Schutz an. Unser Schöpfer weiss, wie viele Haare wir auf unserem Kopf haben. Deshalb kann ich ihm getrost jedes Detail meines Lebens anvertrauen.
Jesus sagte: «Ich bin bei euch alle Tage bis an der Welt Ende.»
Matthäus 28,20b
Bewahrung ist ein Geschenk, welches sich niemand verdienen kann. Gott verspricht uns nicht ein Leben ohne Probleme. Jeder, der ihm vertraut, darf wissen, er bleibt immer und überall an meiner Seite.
Ist das nicht viel mehr, als einfach etwas Glück gehabt?

The Enlightenment encouraged not simply accepting statements or commandments of authorities. People began to question previous facts and laws.
This development brought forth positive and negative developments. People now asked questions and demanded answers. Therefore, we are conditioned to always have an answer to everything. However, life often poses questions to which there are no easy answers.
It is especially helpful for me to listen to my heart and give my head a break every now and then. When I open my heart to Jesus and ask him to speak to me, I expose myself to his presence. This stillness helps me find new impulses instead of being caught in brainstorming.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
Proverbs 3:5

Die Aufklärung führte dazu, Aussagen oder Gebote von Obrigkeiten nicht einfach hinzunehmen. Man begann bisherige Tatsachen und Gesetze zu hinterfragen.
Diese Entwicklung brachte positive und schwierige Früchte hervor. Der Mensch stellte nun Fragen und verlangte nach Antworten. Deshalb sind wir darauf konditioniert, auf alles eine Antwort zu haben. Häufig stellt das Leben allerdings Fragen, auf die es keine einfachen Antworten gibt.
Besonders hilfreich ist es für mich, auf das Herz zu lauschen und dem Kopf etwas Pause zu gönnen. Wenn ich mein Herz Jesus öffne und ihn bitte zu mir zu sprechen, setze ich mich seiner Gegenwart aus. Diese Stille hilft mir, neue Impulse zu finden, anstatt krampfhaft zu Hirnen.
Denk an Gott bei allem, was du tust; er wird dir den richtigen Weg zeigen.

Welche Bereiche bereiten dir immer wieder Kopfzerbrechen? Hab den Mut, eine «Denk-Pause» einzulegen und auf Gott zu hören. Komm mit ihm ins Gespräch. Er hört dich.

While providing relief work, I was changed by God’s love. I gave my life to this work for God, left everything behind and was overjoyed. Every now and then, former colleagues would show up, bragging about great cars, houses and world trips. – I was more than satisfied with my situation. But all of a sudden thoughts and feelings came up that I didn’t know before. – I didn’t lack anything, yet it triggered dissatisfaction from time to time?
Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.
James 1:17
Much later I realized how abundantly God had given to me. He gave me a wonderful family with sweet grandchildren. I could list so much more. My negative thoughts had to give way because I could see God’s providing faithfulness. Conclusion: God has created everything wonderfully. I am safe in his hand. Gratefully I receive his love. The best and most important things are forgiveness, reconciliation and peace. This is beyond my imagination.

Actually, he has everything he needs. He has good food to eat, he can pay his bills, and he is happy with his job. His health is good, his relationship is satisfying, and his life is far from boring.
But wouldn’t more be better? Actually, yes. More money provides more security. A higher position leads to more respect and power, and it provides better for old age. This is why it’s time to further his education, and his promotion comes next.
His dedication and success are impressive. The finances wonderfully meet his expectations, but his hunger for success is still not satisfied.
Unexpectedly he passes away. His obituary states: “It was much to early for him to leave us.”
Was he wise in the eyes of God?
