Actually, he has everything he needs. He has good food to eat, he can pay his bills, and he is happy with his job. His health is good, his relationship is satisfying, and his life is far from boring.
But wouldn’t more be better? Actually, yes. More money provides more security. A higher position leads to more respect and power, and it provides better for old age. This is why it’s time to further his education, and his promotion comes next.
His dedication and success are impressive. The finances wonderfully meet his expectations, but his hunger for success is still not satisfied.
‘This is how it will be with whoever stores up things for themselves but is not rich towards God.’

Unexpectedly he passes away. His obituary states: “It was much to early for him to leave us.”

Am Anfang war das Wort. Das Wort war bei Gott, und das Wort war Gott selbst.
Johannes 1.1
Der Gott der Bibel präsentiert sich als Schöpfer, der durch Wort und Geist aus dem «Nichts» Materie schuf, dann Tag und Nacht, die Welt, Pflanzen, Tiere und Menschen. Gott manifestierte sich in Jesus Christus, seinem Sohn, der das Wort ist. Dieser ewige Gott, der weder Zeit noch Raum unterworfen ist, kennt keine Grenzen. Ihm ist alles möglich und was er geschaffen hat, unterliegt einem guten Plan. Vater, Sohn und Heiliger Geist sind eins und gehören zusammen.
Viele Behauptungen über Gott sind sehr absurd: als undefinierbares Wesen, wie ein strenger Polizist der aufpasst, dass wir alles richtig machen, bis hin zum Kumpel, der alles duldet. Meist prägen uns geistliche Erfahrungen. Nicht selten spielt das negative Vaterbild hinein.
Wer ist Gott wirklich? Was denkst du?
Jesus Christus, der Sohn Gottes, hatte die Aufgabe uns Menschen den Vater zu zeigen. Er, der mit dem Vater eins ist, hat uns das Wesen Gottes vor Augen gemalt. So können wir aus den Ereignissen und Berichten des Neuen Testaments recht gut verstehen, wie Gott ist. Dazu will ich dich ermutigen. Vielleicht beginnst du das Markus-Evangelium zu lesen?

The God of the Bible presents himself as the Creator who, by his word and Spirit, created matter from “nothing,” day and night, the world, plants, animals, and humans. The Word manifested itself in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who is the Word. This eternal God, who is not subject to either time or space, knows no bounds. All things are possible for him, and there is a good plan that underlies everything he has created. Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are one and belong together.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Many claims about who God is are rather absurd: an indefinable being, a policeman who watches to see that we do everything right, or a pal who puts up with everything. Our spiritual experiences impact us the most. It’s not unusual for a negative father image to play a role. Who is God really? What do you think?
Jesus Christ, the Son of God, had the assignment of showing the Father to us humans. He, who is one with the Father, painted the very nature of God before our eyes. Thus, we are able to clearly understand what God is really like through the events and accounts of the New Testament. This is why we want to encourage you to start by reading the Gospel of Mark.

Many of King David’s Psalms in the Bible express doubts or fear. And yet he was called a “man after God’s own heart.” So why should “believers” not have any doubts?
Real faith allows for doubts because they are part of life. Anything else is artificial, hypocritical “piety” or destructive criticizing and questioning. That takes many captive and harms them. If we talk with God about our doubts and fears, we have come to the right place. In his presence new, lasting faith grows.
So it’s no problem if you have any doubts. Talk with God about it because he knows about it anyway. Let the Holy Spirit lead you back to the Father’s heart of God. These important interactions are the ones that set us free and create new divine trust in us.
Then Jesus told him, ‘Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.’

Viele Psalmen der Bibel, welche der damalige König David dichtete, berichten von Zweifel oder Angst. Trotzdem wurde er ein «Mann nach dem Herzen Gottes» genannt. – Weshalb sollten «Gläubige» keine Zweifel haben?
Echter Glaube lässt Zweifel zu, weil er zum Leben gehört. Etwas anderes ist aufgesetztes, geheucheltes «frömmeln» oder zerstörerisches kritisieren und hinterfragen. Das nimmt viele gefangen und schadet ihnen. Reden wir mit Gott über unsere Zweifel und Ängste, sind wir am richtigen Ort. In seiner Gegenwart wächst neuer, beständiger Glaube.
Wenn du also Zweifel hast, ist das kein Problem. Sprich mit Gott darüber, denn er weiss es sowieso. Lass dich vom Heiligen Geist und im Lesen der Bibel wieder an das Vaterherz Gottes zurückführen. Es sind diese wichtigen Begegnungen, welche uns befreien und neues, göttliches Vertrauen in uns schaffen.
Jesus sagte: «Du glaubst, weil du mich gesehen hast. Freuen dürfen sich alle, die mich nicht sehen und trotzdem glauben!»
Johannes 20,28b
