Helene Fischer und Florian Silbereisen galten als das Traumpaar am deutschen Schlagerhimmel! Dann der Schock für ihre grosse Fangemeinde: Die beiden trennten sich! Über 10 Jahre waren sie zusammen. Sie teilten miteinander «Bett, Beruf und manchmal sogar die Zahnbürste», wie Silbereisen später in einem Interview gestand.
Trotz vielen Gemeinsamkeiten, trotz ansteckender Ausstrahlung: Ihre Liebe ging zu Ende. Sie sahen keine gemeinsame Zukunft mehr.
Nein, das wünschen wir uns alle nicht. Wir träumen von der grossen Liebe. Von der Liebe, die durchträgt, besonders in schwierigen Zeiten. Für uns Menschen ist das eine Überforderung. Oft scheitern wir leider daran.
Gott sagt in 4. Mose 14,18: «Meine Geduld ist gross und meine Liebe kennt kein Ende.» Was für ein Versprechen! Probiere es aus! Menschen enttäuschen – Gott enttäuscht nie!

Helene Fischer and Florian Silbereisen were the dream couple in the German music scene! Then the shocking news: The two are separating! 10 years they were a couple. They shared “bed, profession and sometimes even the tooth brush”, as Silbereisen stated in an interview later on.
Despite all commonalities, despite their contagious charisma: Their love ended. They didn’t see a future together.
No, none of us wish for that. We dream of love. The love that carries through, especially in difficult times. As humans, we are overwhelmed by that. Often we unfortunately fail.
Got says: “My love does not know an end.” What a promise! Try it!

Eine Frau erzählte mir kürzlich von ihrem erstmaligen Versuch, selbst Brot zu backen. Eigentlich hatte sie kaum Zeit dafür. Doch sie hatte es sich in den Kopf gesetzt: Heute will ich mein eigenes Brot herstellen. In aller Schnelle suchte sie die Zutaten zusammen, erstellte den Teig – und ab damit in den Backofen.
Die Enttäuschung war gross, als sie später das gebackene Brot versuchte. Es schmeckte nach «gar nichts», einfach fad. In ihrer Ungeduld hatte sie sich nicht richtig konzentriert und das Wichtige dabei vergessen: Das Salz.
Geduld haben wir nötig. Das lehrt uns die Bibel. Durch Ungeduld ist vieles zerstört worden. Nicht nur materielle Werte können in Brüche gehen – auch Beziehungen leiden unter Ungeduld.
Deshalb: Lass Dir Zeit. Hab Geduld mit dir und deinen Mitmenschen. Überlege: Was ist dran in meinem Leben – heute? Morgen? In einem Monat? Sicher ist: Um zu erfahren, was Gott von Dir möchte, brauchst Du Geduld und Zeit. Schnelle Antworten entpuppen sich oft als schlechte Ratgeber.
Geduld aber habt ihr nötig, auf dass ihr den Willen Gottes tut und das Verheissene empfangt.

A lady told me the other day about her first try making bread. She doesn’t really have time for it. But she really wanted to try: Today, I want to make my own bread.
In a hurry, she put together all the ingredients, made a dough and put it in the oven.
The disappointment was immense when she tried the bread. It didn’t really taste good, it was bland. Being impatient she didn’t focus properly and forgot the most important thing: the salt.
We need patience. The bible knows that. Many things get damaged through impatience. Not only material values can break also relationships suffer under impatience.
Therefore: take your time. Be patient with yourself and the people around you. Think about it: What’s important in my life today? Tomorrow? In a month? One thing is certain: if you want to know what God wants from you, you have to be patient. Quick answers are often bad answers.
For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.

With lots of effort, Werner drags himself to the living room. With last strength, he was able to call the emergency number. He breathes heavily. He is barely able to gasp air. It seems to him that a heavy load is sitting on his chest. He describes the symptoms on the phone. In a few minutes, the emergency personnel are at his place. They give him oxygen. He can breathe again – gasp for air. To do further tests, he was taken to the hospital and was released a few days later.
This experience made an impression on him. The inability to breathe, not enough air coming through – to feel – a load is holding him down.
“You know,” he tells me, “it became an image for me. How often are we carrying loads with us? We live unforgiving, hold grudges, and are worried.”
Jesus Christ has an offer for all of us: “Come to me all who are weary and I will take the burden off you.” Try it, risk it. Take what burdens you to Jeus. He will take the load.
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
