Der Schweizer Schriftsteller Jean Ziegler formulierte einmal: «Der Tod ist ein Skandal! Ich hatte schon als Kind den unbändigen Willen, möglichst viel Leben dem Tod entgegenzusetzen.» Ziegler mag recht haben: Gott hat uns ein Leben geschenkt, damit wir es leben. Das wollen wir mit Dankbarkeit tun. Aber es ist eine biblische Tatsache: «Es ist dem Menschen gesetzt zu sterben.» Nichts hat sich geändert an den Aussagen, die Mose vor 3500 Jahren machte: «Lehre uns bedenken, dass wir sterben müssen, damit wir klug werden. Unser Leben währt siebzig Jahre und wenn es hoch kommt, so sind es achtzig.» (Psalm 90, 10)
Jesus Christus kam auf die Erde, um dem Tod die Macht zu nehmen. Er starb am Kreuz und stand drei Tage später von den Toten auf, damit alle, die an ihn glauben, mit ihm zum ewigen Leben auferstehen werden! Mit Jesus ist das Sterben kein Skandal mehr, sondern ein Sieg!

The apostle Paul never ceased to stress the power of Jesus Christ as the Son of God and as our Redeemer. Those who turn to Jesus receive complete and total forgiveness for their sins. Jesus helps to free them from their sinful habits and constraints, cleanses their conscience, and gives them a living hope and eternal life. When people accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, this is a crucial turning point in their lives. Arguably the most important day of their lives. All of their guilt against God has been taken away, all of Satan’s claims on them have been taken away, and any chains holding them down have been destroyed. How? Jesus. He defeated the creator of sin and deceiver of men on the cross through purity, humility, and absolute love. Through this act, he received his place on the throne in heaven from his Father. Jesus is Lord over all powers and authorities. God’s goodness, mercy and riches is revealed through Jesus Christ. Therefore, stay in close contact with him. Get up again when you fall down and allow him to cleanse you! He loves you!

Der Apostel Paulus wird nicht müde, die Kompetenz von Jesus Christus als Gottessohn und Erlöser zu betonen. Wer sich diesem Jesus zuwendet (anvertraut), bekommt völlige Vergebung seiner Sünden, Hilfe zur Befreiung von sündigen Gewohnheiten und gesetzlichen Zwängen, ein reines Gewissen, eine lebendige Hoffnung, ewiges Leben…
«Ihr habt Jesus Christus als den Herrn angenommen.» Mit dieser entscheidenden Wende im Leben der Christen ist die ganze Schuld gegenüber Gott bereinigt und jeder Anspruch Satans vom Tisch.
Dazu war ein Kraftakt nötig. Jesus hat den Urheber der Sünde und Verführer der Menschen am Kreuz durch Reinheit, Demut und absolute Liebe besiegt und hat deshalb den Platz auf dem Thron im Himmel von seinem Vater bekommen. Er ist Herr über alle Mächte und Autoritäten. In Jesus erschliesst sich seinen Nachfolgern der ganze göttliche Reichtum. Bleiben Sie deshalb in enger Verbindung mit ihm. Stehen Sie wieder auf, wenn Sie hingefallen sind und lassen Sie sich von ihm reinigen! Er liebt Sie!

Miroslav Klose in an Interview stated that “scoring goals is the most important thing in soccer.”
Soccer players know that the most important thing for them is scoring goals. Now, what would your answer be if I asked you what the most important thing in your life is? Take some time now, and think about it carefully. It’s important to know and evaluate where your priorities are.
The Bible unmistakably tells us that God, our creator, wants to be not only at the center of our lives but the paper that our lives are written on. The foundation of everything. The Ten Commandments clearly show us that a true relationship with God is the most important thing. He gives true meaning to our lives, for we are specifically created to have a relationship with him. Jesus told us in John 14:6 that he is the way, the truth and the life, and the only way to get to the father is through him. Our goal should be to get to our father, and Jesus has blasted open that door for us. However, we have to chose to walk through it.
On the other hand, soccer players goals are to score, and that’s why they spend so many hour training to be the best they can be. They train to have endurance, focus, and work successfully together as a team. We as Christians can learn a thing or two from these athletes. We need to also train so we have endurance, even when it gets tough and we feel exhausted, to focus, and not get distracted by the crowds, to learn how to work together as a community to honor God. Our training may look different but it is just as important and through Jesus, through intentional time with God, we can train ourselves and grow stronger.
So let me ask you again, what is the most important thing in your life and how are you training for it?
I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ.

Miroslav Klose sagte in einem Interview: «Tore sind das Wichtigste beim Fussball!»
Fussballer wissen genau, wer gewinnen will, muss Tore schiessen! Was ist in Ihrem Leben das Wichtigste? Es lohnt sich darüber nachzudenken. Die Bibel zeigt unmissverständlich, dass Gott, unser Schöpfer, das Wichtigste in unserem Leben sein will.
Die Zehn Gebote verdeutlichen, dass eine aufrichtige Beziehung zu Gott das Allerwichtigste ist. Die Verbindung mit unserem Schöpfer gibt unserem Leben den wahren Sinn, denn unser Gestalter hat uns darauf angelegt.
Fussballer fokussieren sich aufs Tore schiessen. Deshalb trainieren sie diese Kernkompetenz und lassen sich von nicht’s anderem ablenken. Gott erinnert uns immer wieder an die Beziehung mit ihm. Sein Sohn weist uns alle darauf hin: Die Beziehung zu Gott (seinem Vater) ist das Wichtigste und es ist nur durch ihn möglich (aus Johannes 14, 6).
