I was looking for some good literature when I found a wallet. It wasn’t on the floor where a customer would have lost it but it was on a shelf hidden by a few novels.
I investigated further and found a number of credit-, bank- and client cards – but no cash. But – at least – through the client cards it is easy to figure out the owner’s address and phone number.
Like I thought, the wallet was stolen a few weeks before. All cash was gone. But why would the thief hide the wallet in a bookstore? Did he have a bad conscience? Did he want it to be found? We can only guess…
But God is faithful and fair. If we admit that we have sinned, he will forgive us our sins. He will forgive every wrong thing we have done. He will make us pure.
1 John 1:9
Certain is: There is a dump for our sins, for guilt that makes life difficult: The invitation is valid: Those who recognize their sin will be forgiven! There is no need to hide!

There are various “red lines” throughout the Bible such as the term “salvation”. God views us as creatures that need to be saved. We do not like this description since we believe that we can help ourselves. The daily negative news shows, however, that since we broke with God, we are able to do everything evil. According to the Bible, there was so much wrongdoing in the centuries after Adam and Eve that God gave the “flood” as an awful judgement.
Huge bodies of water flooded the planet and destroyed everything. However, before that, God started a rescue mission. He ordered Noah to build an Ark to rescue men and animals for the future. People laughed about Noah and his huge ark which he built for 20 years. Before God sent the flood, he closed the doors of the ark himself.
But the Lord was pleased with Noah.
Genesis 6:8
Conclusion: The offer is for everyone! Those who decline will be judged.

Es gibt mehrere «rote Fäden» in der Bibel, wie zum Beispiel der Begriff «Rettung». Gott sieht uns Menschen als rettungsbedürftige Wesen an. Wir lieben diese Beschreibung nicht, denn wir glauben uns selber helfen zu können. Die täglichen Negativschlagzeilen beweisen aber, dass wir seit dem Bruch mit Gott zu allem Bösen fähig sind. Gemäss der Bibel geschah in den ersten Jahrhunderten nach Adam und Eva so viel Unrecht, dass Gott ein fürchterliches Gericht, die «Sintflut», über die Welt hereinbrechen liess.
Grosse Wassermassen überschwemmten und vernichteten alles auf dem Planeten Erde. Vorher leitete Gott aber eine Rettungsaktion ein. Er beauftragte Noah eine Arche zu bauen, um Menschen und Tiere für eine neue Zukunft zu retten. Die Menschen lachten über Noah und das riesige Schiff, an dem er fast 20 Jahre baute. Bevor Gott die «Sintflut» schickte, schloss er selber die Türe des Schiffes zu.
Fazit: Sein Angebot gilt allen! Wer es aber ausschlägt, ist dem Gericht ausgesetzt. Bejahen Sie die göttliche Einladung?
Aber Noah fand Gnade vor dem Herrn.

The Cathedral of Notre Dame in Paris a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site was built between 1162 and 1345. On April 15 and 16, a big part of it was destroyed while renovation work occurred. The firefighters could prevent the worst. In the whole country, the flags were on half mast and a donation campaign started.
It’s almost unbelievable but forgers opened their own donation account and took personal advantage. It reminds us of Jude who kept account and took money every so often. He pretended to take care of the poor (John 12:4-8) and ultimately betrayed Jesus for about 10,000 Euros.
The plans of godly people are right. But the advice of sinners will lead you the wrong way.
Proverbs 12:5
Jesus lived the exact opposite:
- Do good in the hidden places
- Rather take the short stick
- Serve others opposed to rule them
- Forgive if someone does you wrong

Die Kirche von Notre-Dame in Paris, ein UNESCO Weltkulturerbe, wurde 1163 bis 1345 errichtet. Am 15.–16. April 2019 wurde während der Renovationsarbeiten ein grosser Teil durch Feuer zerstört. Die Feuerwehr konnte das Schlimmste verhindern. Im ganzen Land stellte man die Fahnen auf Halbmast und startete eine Spendenaktion.
Kaum zu glauben, aber geschäftige Betrüger errichteten ihr eigenes Spendenkonto und bereicherten sich persönlich. Das erinnert uns an den Jünger Judas, welcher die Kasse führte und ab und zu Geld draus entwendete. Er gab vor, für die Armen zu sorgen (Johannes 12,4–8) und verriet schliesslich Jesus für umgerechnet 10’000 Euro.
Jesus lehrte und lebte uns genau das Gegenteil vor:
• Tue Gutes im Verborgenen
• Lass dich lieber übervorteilen
• Diene Anderen, anstatt über sie zu herrschen
• Vergib, wo man dir Unrecht tut
Was haben Sie von Jesus gelernt?
Wer zu Gott gehört, hegt gute Absichten; wer Gott missachtet, hat nur Betrügereien im Kopf.
